I have recently found that the gems sell a whole lot better on the weekends, particularly Friday night, than the rest of the week. So I'm going to stock up during the week and then sell on weekends.

I noticed that too, seems like people are selling like crazy during the week and taking a break on the weekends. Maybe they expect a higher volume of sales during weekday raids.

I still can't believe how many Chaotic Skyflare Diamonds I can sell in a day, there seems to be a never ending demand for them (not that I'm complaining). The price seems to have stabilised recently at around 70g each on my server and I for one am taking full advantage of it.

The chaotics are going from 45g to 65g on my server depending on how many sellers are putting them up.

Does anybody do good business off green gems? If so, which ones?

I've never been able to sell cut green level gems, but there is typically a market for uncut.

Or if you are talking about epic green gems, Eye of Zuls, the answer is no, I can't sell them worth a darn. I keep a couple on hand incase one of my toons needs one but I don't bother getting them to cut and sell.

Lately I just focused on Cardinal Rubies and primarily sell Bold, Delicate and Runed. There's always demand, especially Friday and Saturday nights, and the prices have held up well. I get anywhere from 190g to 166g a piece after the auction cut. For the transmutes I can farm fires easily but I have to buy the Scarlet Rubies at around 40g or so. So I am looking at profit of 115g to 150g per gem, assuming no transmute procs, which I typically get somewhere between 10%-20% of the time.

One more thing, I have been getting more of the PvP cuts and have had mixed success selling those cuts. The prices tend to be a lot higher than comparable PvE cuts. For example. I can sometimes buy an uncut Kings Amber for 125g and then sell the 20 Resil cut for 200g, while Brilliants and Quicks (the two that seem to sell the most) are down to the 160g range. I can't remember the purple and orange PvP cuts but I've sold some of those lately too. For the uncut purples and oranges, I just use Emblems of Triumph to purchase them.

Awesome post, Kumiko, I've put it to good use as I gather patterns... but are you still going to post your list of top profit? With your volume, that's something I'm really curious about. Thanks.

Yes i will. But i have to delay it, because i have many things to do these days and the top profit list needs some deeper digging into my sales lists.

To be honest, I think a 'highest profit' list would be pretty useless, since server economies vary widely. But knowing which gems sell more often than others has been a huge help to me personally, as it helps me narrow my selection of which cuts to get first.

WTF happened this past weekend? On my server the AH had the usual gem sellers but the buyers were missing. All gems, cut or uncut, were about 25% off the prices I have seen consistently for several months! Metas too. Not JC but also one of my best sellers, Eternal Belt Buckles were almost down 50%. So, it was a slow weekend for making gold for me. I'm doing the best on making Titansteel and selling it. I make about 30g profit per bar buying all the mats and 40g profit if I farm the Eternal Fires.

I have noticed this too; epic gems are steadily declining in price. Raw uncut ones are dropping a bit as well, just not in proportion to the cut versions. Maybe players have slowed down on obtaining gear. From an ICC25 raiders standpoint, a lot of our members have obtained the majority of their gear and approaching full Sanctified pieces. There isn't much to buy anymore with their frost badges, if any. Even for me, who started to raid ICC25 really late, upgrades has slowed down by a lot. There is also the possibility of more sellers in the JC market due to the word spreading through the interwebs about its profitability.

It wasn't a gradual thing on my server. Cut cardinal rubies have been 185g to 210g for weeks. Uncut 160g or more. Seemed like Wednesday or Thursday of last week everything dropped. Cut cardinal rubies are 160g at best and uncut 125g to 130g. I expected the prices to rebound on the weekend but they didn't and still haven't for epic gems. The chaotic metas did finally rebound today and I'm getting 60g per again. Over the weekend they were down to 30g-35g. Eternal Belt Buckles also rebounded today. I assume someone bought out both of those when they were cheap since there's not many on the AH now.

New honor changes make it really easy to gain 10k to buy an epic gem. In addition, how many of us have tons of BG marks saved up, those can be turned in for even more honor. Even some alts have 100 AV marks that can be converted to honor. Gems are starting to decline in price, supply is outstripping demand right now.

I don't PVP so I didn't know about that change. That makes sense as the cause since other things are still about the same price on the AH. Losing a big chunk of the profit on the gems has me looking for new opportunities.
